A 31-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge after he beat his ex-girlfriend with a concrete block, police said.
Corey Ladaun Brown, 31, is accused of first-degree murder after he beat his ex-girlfriend with a concrete block, police say.
Corey Ladaun Brown, of Oklahoma City, is being held without bond in the Oklahoma County Jail. Brown is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Sams, 21, of Del City.
Investigators arrested Brown on Thursday night after witnesses reported the attack, which took place the 800 block of Southwest 59th Street.
Faith Carpenter said she was in her living room when she heard a scream.
“I ran outside and looked at my fence and saw this attack,” Carpenter said. “She was on the ground, and he was standing over the top of her and had a cinder block. He was just bashing her with it.”
“When he got through, he just walked away and drove off,” she added.
On Friday, family members gathered at a home in Del City.
“She was a great person,” said Angel Gray, the victim’s younger sister. “She was my best friend. She made everybody smile. She made everybody laugh. She was always there for people.”
Gray said she tried to tell her sister to stay away from Brown.
“He was her on-again, off-again boyfriend,” she added. “He told me he was for real this time. He told me he was going to take care of her and he wasn’t going to beat her anymore.”
