When Sally Colburn reached into a 10-pound bag of potatoes on Wednesday night, she figured she'd get nourishment, not a message from her dead husband, Jack.
"I was just frying up some onions and potatoes," she told The Huffington Post. "I reached in the bag and the last potato was shaped like a heart."
Heart-shaped potatoes are uncommon, but not unusual. However, Colburn, 70, believes this one was special.
"I know it was a sign from him," she said. "I had been missing him. He died on May 13th and I've had that bag of potatoes for 2-and-a-half months. I reached in the bag and it was the very last one."
Jack and Sally Colburn had been married for nearly 50 years when he succumbed to lung cancer. "I wouldn't want him back the way he was," she admitted. "He was suffering."
Still, she is certain this potato is from him.
